PESTICIDE TRAINING & RECERTIFICATION COURSES

We're excited to announce that courses are now approved to offer recertification opportunities for certified applicators in three states!! Missouri and Kansas applicators will be recertified and Kansas applicators will receive "core" and "pest managment" credits.  The Overland Park, KS location and Kansas City, MO location will be particularly useful for applicators in Missouri, Nebraska, and Kansas.

The Overland Park workshop is being held as a pre-conference workshop for the National Green Centre conference. Additional information about the National Green Centre can be found at http://www.nationalgreencentre.org/ .  Registration for the pesticide training is handled seperately from the conference, so be sure to download pesticide training registration forms from here

Attendance at the course will provide recertification for certified applicators licensed in Missouri and Nebraska, and will provide 1 hour of "core" and 5.5 hours of "pest management" credits for applicators licensed in Kansas.  (Kansas categories include 2, 3a, 3b, and 6.) Approved categories for all three states include Forest Pests, Ornamental and Turf, and Right-of-Way.

Missouri and Nebraska certified applicators and licensed technicians need only attend the first day to recertified or retrained. Kansas applicators need to attend both days to receive the 1 hour of "core" and 5.5 hours of "pest management" credits. Attendance at both days is needed for initial Pesticide Technician Training in Missouri.

  • Contact the Missouri Department of Agriculture at (573) 751-5504 and obtain a copy of the "Missouri Pesticide Use Act" or download it from  http://www.moga.mo.gov/statutes/c281.htm .  They can also answer questions about test dates and specific requirements.

    • Order one (or more) of the category manuals:  (M89) Ornamental and Turf;   (M94) Forest Pests; or (M88) Right of Way.  You can become licensed in as many categories that you want.  All applicants take the core exam, and then you will also take a "category exam" for each category in which you want to become licensed.
