A Pesticide Technician Training and Pesticide Recertification course has been scheduled for February 25th in St. Louis, MO at Powder Valley Nature Center.

SKA also sells a Technician Training Manual for use by companies that wish to do their own training with an approved program.  Once the manual is purchased, employers can train as many employees as they want.  Classroom and on-the-job training are required.  The manual includes all information needed to provide this training.  All forms required by the Missouri Department of Agriculture are also included.

The training manual cost is $250.  Send e-mail to skip@skaforestry.com for inquires or requests.  The manual will be mailed once payment is received.

PESTICIDE TRAINING & RECERTIFICATION COURSES


The course is designed to provide company owners and their employees with the required pesticide trainingEven those not required to have a license will benefit from the safety information.  The course is also a great way to prepare for the examination required by those wanting to become a Certified Applicator.

A one-day session is offered for those needing re-certification or retraining for an existing license. 

A two-day session will train technicians in Category 3.   (This two-day session is also a great way to prepare for the exam that is required for those wanting to become Certified Applicators.)

The course includes pesticide applicator information in Category 2 (Forest Pests), Category 3 (Ornamental & Turf) and Category 6 (Right-of-Way).

Attendees will receive the following:

  • Re-certification in their appropriate category, OR
  • Required classroom training for technician trainees;
  • Pesticide training manual for technician trainees (includes all needed forms);
  • An approved outline of the 30 hour on-the-job training for technicians;
  • Information that will help in preparing for the exam required for an applicators license.  (No exam is required for a technician license.)

IMPORTANT INFO IF YOU ARE TRYING TO BECOME A LICENSED APPLICATOR
  • Contact the Missouri Department of Agriculture at (573) 751-5504 and obtain a copy of the "Missouri Pesticide Use Act".  They can also answer questions about test dates and specific requirements. <>Purchase copies of training manuals.  Skip Kincaid & Associates has an excellent  training manual geared specifically for the ornamental and turf category.  (see more info on the left side of this web page).  Other suggested training manuals are available through University Extension.  Order manuals by calling them at (800)292-0969 or you can order the manuals on-line at:

    • Order the Core Manual (MX328) "Applying Pesticides Correctly"
    • Order one (or more) of the category manuals:  (M89) Ornamental and Turf;   (M88) Forest Pests; or (M88) Right of Way.  You can become licensed in as many categories that you want.  All applicants take the core exam, and then you will also take a "category exam" for each category in which you want to become licensed.
  • Register to take the exam by calling the Missouri Department of Agriculture.  Take the exam only after you have read SKA's manual or the other training manuals.  Be prepared!!
