DEVELOPERS, SITE PLANNERS, BUILDERS AND ARCHITECTS
Recent studies show that landscape amenities were the most important features affecting occupancy rates in commercial buildings. And good builders know that residential homebuyers will often pay more for a new home with mature trees already in place. Rely on the certified arborists at Davey Resource Group to make your project a natural attraction! Preservation of healthy trees can add significant value to a project.
We provide the expertise to interpret planning and zoning regulations, develop tree preservation strategies during the planning phase, incorporate these strategies into the site design and provide on-site supervision to insure that plans become reality.

Every city requires something different when it comes to requiring tree preservation on sites proposed for development. Most cities require the following:
-
A Tree Stand Delineation that shows the number, location, type and quality of trees that currently exist on the site. It is generally a map with a table containing the tree data and brief notes. (Davey Resource Group can use base maps prepared by engineers or architects designing the project or we can prepare a map of the site using geo-referenced aerial photography.) It is best if a certified arborist is part of the initial planning process for site development. This insures that cost-effective decisions are made about tree preservation that improves the finished product.
-
A Tree Protection Plan will indicate what trees are to be preserved and what protective measures will be taken. This too is usually in map form, but can also include a full set of specifications to be used in the construction documents. We are equipped to read and utilize site development plans prepared by others in AutoCAD.
-
The level of required preservation and the penalties for violating tree preservation requirements vary from municipality to municipality. We have performed these tree studies in a number of different cities and can walk you through the steps specific to your project.
